SOMMELIER SELECTIONS

Glass Bottle
JP Chenet Brut Sparkling ~ France
A very plesant Sparkling Wine brut from Blanc de Blancs. On the nose it has sublte honey, pear and citrus. Medium body with slightly high acidity and tartness that reminds me of a granny smith apple mid palate.

9
1000 Stories Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel ~ California
This gorgeous red is made up of select Zinfandel sourced from Mendocino County it is then blended not in French or American Oak but instead Charred Bourbon Barrels . This unique aging process really brings out the notes of vanilla, dried herbs and a hint of caramel.. The mighty buffalo as seen on the label is an iconic symbol of American heritage, a heritage woven with one thousand stories, unique traditions, and a pioneering spirit.

14 49
Lucky Dogg Syrah “Brandy’s Blend” Solvang, California
Give this glass a good swirl and you are going to smell raspberry, dark cherry, blackberry and hints of pepper. Take a sip and you will find more of the raspberries and blackberries now pleasantly joined by blueberry to round out the party. This wine has a cozy mouth feel with very light tannins, gentle tartness and a long smooth lingering finish.

16 56
Labor Pinot Noir ~ Willamette Valley, Oregon
From Labor is the idea that hard work presents rewards and what better way to embrace that vision from their hands to yours.(You’ll see outreached hands on the label). Their passion for the Oregon and Pinot Noir is evident as you experience a slight spice and creaminess to compliment the element of smokiness, with a tough of cigar box balanced with red fruits and a round flavor.

18 63
Rombauer Chardonnay ~ Carneros, California
The fruit for this wine comes from the vineyards in the Carneros region owned by the Rombauer family who have farmed this land for three generations. Enticing aromas of bright citrus and melon are layered with spice, vanilla and a touch of butter. Vibrant flavors of mango and guava meld with vanilla and soft spice on the creamy, rich palate. The finish is juicy and satisfying with refreshing acidity that makes you crave another sip!

20 70

Great Divide Hibernation Ale
Who says a sommelier can’t enjoy a great beer every now and then? This robust, dry hopped ale has a malty richness balanced with a complex hop profile and hearty warming character.

FUN WINE FACTS

"Old World" refers to the traditional regions of Europe, while "New World" refers to everything else.  New World regions are often warmer, resulting in riper, more alcoholic, full-bodied and fruit-centered wines. Old World wines tend to be lighter-bodied, exhibiting more herb, earth, mineral and floral components.

Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris are made from the same grape. Pinot Gris from the Alsace region of France is typically rich and often sweet, with rich, spicy tropical fruit aromas. Pinot Grigio in Italy shows a lighter, crisp, clean and vibrant expression of the grape, with citrus flavors.

Syrah/Shiraz are the same grape.  Quite simply, Syrah is produced north of the equator, and Shiraz produced south of the equator.

Monastrell/Mourvedre also the same grape, with Monastrell produced in Spain, and Mourvedre everywhere else.

Meritage (which rhymes with "heritage") refers to Bordeaux-style wines made in the U.S.  To produce a Meritage wine, the blend must be one of the estate's top bottlings. Red Meritage wine must be a blend of two or more of the five traditional Bordeaux reds (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec), and white Meritage is a blend of two or more of the three traditional Bordeaux whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Muscadelle du Bordolais).
